Besides for the picture, captions are one of the first things that your followers will pay attention to when viewing your account. The fun part about captions is that they can be anything you want.... literally. It could be a detailed description of exactly what the picture is showing, a “punny” joke, a question, a commonly used phrase and so much more. I personally like to keep my captions simple as I am a firm believer that simplicity makes for success. I have decided to format each and everyone one of my captions in the exact same way: a fork and knife emoji placed next my brief statement of what food is featured in the picture followed by a pin drop emoji placed next to the name of the restaurant as well as the city and state or country that the restaurant is located in. I then always conclude my captions by including a set of hashtags related to the photo being posted. I feel as if the simplicity of my personal caption template allows for consistency throughout my account. As my followers continue to engage and get more familiar with my account, they will always know what to expect when looking at the caption of a new post. But by no means does that require you to be like me. If you want your captions to be quirky, make your captions quirky. As I said before, the options are endless.
